The Mill: CG Liquid for Sky Q

The Mill liquefies a TV screen into an explosive choreography of colorful CG droplets in what fxguide calls “one of the most beautiful spots of the year;” a visually epic campaign for Sky Q from Brothers & Sisters and Director Johnny Green.

In a 12-month, R&D-intensive project, artists created more than 100 liquid VFX shots and 4,000 individual simulations – 45,000+ hours of rendering using Arnold with HtoA and MtoA. The fluids work includes an unusual use of SSS which enables light to shine through the opaque, colorful fluid.
